Ingredients

– 2 pounds ripe tomatoes, diced

– 3 jalapeño peppers, seeded and diced

– 1 cup white vinegar

– 1 cup white sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cumin

– 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

– In a large saucepan, combine the diced tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, vinegar, sugar, cumin, coriander, cloves, cayenne, and salt.

– Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes or until the jam has thickened to your desired consistency.

– Remove the pan from the heat and let the jam cool slightly.

– Transfer the jam to sterilized jars or containers and refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

This tomato chilli jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For a smoother texture, blend the mixture before simmering. Adjust the amount of chili peppers to your desired level of spiciness.
